What Do You Think That I Will Do With This?

left: Umbellifers Herb Pot, oval.  right: Umbellifers Herb Pot,small cup.

Any ideas of what I plan to do with these pots?

HotFlashFinds:
I found these pots online for  $3.95. each. They were on sale at Anthropologie.  I have fun browsing through their website.  Especially, their SALE section. http://www.anthropologie.com/.  Also, I enjoy going into their stores and taking in the whole Anthro experience.  I like to look at all of the creative things that their designers do throughout the store.  And, I like a lot of the clothing, too. An Anthro experience gets my creative juices flowing.

Regarding my original question, please check back on February 12, 2012 and you will see what I will be doing with these 2 pots.

Finally, a Small Taste of Snow

I really look forward to the first snow of the season.  Especially, when I can enjoy a snow day.   I like being able to read a book or newspaper by a warm fire, do a little sledding,  and make some delicious hot chocolate.  For me, all of these are  welcome treats.

HotFlashFinds: Did you know that flavonols, the antioxidant-rich compounds found in cocoa and dark chocolate, are heart healthy?  They can improve blood flow and help lower blood pressure.

Here's a Hot Cocoa Recipe to try so that you can stay warm and healthy on these cold wintry days:

Hot Chocolate: Place the milk, semisweet chocolate, milk chocolate, and sugar (if using), in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk periodically until the mixture just reaches the boiling point. Remove from heat and if more foam is desired, use a wire whisk or hand held immersion blender to whip the hot chocolate.

Pour the hot chocolate into two cups and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder or grated chocolate, if desired.   Preparation time 10 minutes.

Whipped Cream: In your mixing bowl, place the whipping cream, vanilla extract, and sugar and stir to combine. If you have time, cover and chill the bowl and wire whisk in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. When chilled, beat the mixture until stiff peaks form. The whipped cream will keep in the refrigerator for a day or two.

Note: To make hot or iced mocha simply replace 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk with your favorite brewed coffee. Proceed with the recipe and if you want it iced, let the mixture cool and then pour over ice cubes. Garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate.

Note: Leftovers can be covered and stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days. Reheat.

Makes 2 - 8 ounce (240 ml) servings.

Hot Chocolate Recipe:
2 cups (480 ml) milk
3 ounces (90 grams) semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 ounce (30 grams) milk chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon granulated white sugar, or to taste (optional)
Whipped Cream:
1/2 cup (120 ml) cold heavy whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 tablespoon (15 grams) granulated white sugar
Grated chocolate or cocoa powder

Note:  I have not tried this recipe.  However, I do plan to give it a try because it looks delicious. To make it a little more heart healthy, use skim milk, and omit the whipped cream.  However, it's a snow day, so  I think that I may just go for the gusto.

I found this at Target!

                                         HotFlashFinds: Xhilaration  19.99 Imported

I was at Target on 12/30/11 picking up a prescription.  I just couldn't resist browsing through the women's section of the store.   Hanging right in front was this sheer, printed jacket.  It comes in 4 different design patterns.   The sizes ranged from xs-xl.  A great, light weight item to layer over blouses and tee's with pants or with shifts.

Check these printed jackets out the next time you are at your local Target.
